Do trains in Texas make any sense? How would travelers reaching Dallas and Houston move around once they stepped off the trains?

Because those are both road-locked cities and most U.S. cities are, they'd have to build a rental car type terminal near the train statios - electric or hybrid vehicles might even do the trick if you're just driving around town. When you return you just drive back to the station and dump your car.
