Bring Back Smart Highways
Bring back Smart Highways as a way to bring back a better infrastructure instead of just a rebuilt infrastructure. Doing so would make travel less expensive and safer for everyone.

The trouble is that the projects that are "shovel-ready" are old-style, dumb infrastructure spends. But I guess we can't postpone everything to make them smarter.

- Several smart highways were under construction several years ago. One was Interstate 81 in Virginia but it appears the Bush Administration pulled the plug on Smart Highways.

- I agree. It would also help us save fuel. How much would this cost, and where would the first ones go? We need ideas of first steps.
