The Most Important Building Projects for the United States

Build a Light Rail Connection to Laguardia Airport

This is my pet project proposal for Manhattan. It would not be good for cabbies or livery drivers, but it would benefit the city by reducing traffic and congestion on major New York transportation arteries and by lowering the cost of transportation. I imagine the NY subway could be extended through Queens to connect Laguardia with the city, like connections that have been built for JFK and Newark airports.

Here's a great link on Urban Planet where people from all over the country list Light Rail projects being considered.

Registered just a minute ago, and haven't poked around yet. But I am quite familiar with Alan Drake's POV and suggest you check out Light Rail Now if you haven't already.

Any idea how much that would cost?
